📋 Overview
Your Profile page is where you manage your own personal account details inside Structur. It is separate from your company's settings, everything here applies only to your individual account, not to your team or organization.
Profile keeps two things in one place: your personal information and your login access. From here you can update how your name appears across the platform, add a profile picture your teammates will recognize, and manage how you log in. If you signed up with Google or Microsoft SSO, you can also set a password to give yourself a second way to access your account.
Every user in Structur has their own Profile page. What you see and what you can edit applies only to your account, your role, permissions, and team assignments are managed separately by your Owner or Company Admin in Settings > Users.
🔍 Understanding Your Profile
⚡ What It Does
Your Profile page allows you to:
Upload a profile picture, add a photo that appears next to your name in tasks, daily logs, messages, and throughout the platform
Update your name, keep your first and last name current so teammates can identify you
Add your phone number, store a contact number on your account, with a country selector for the correct dial code
View your email address, see the email tied to your account and its verification status (a Verified badge appears once you've logged in). This is set at signup and cannot be changed from Profile
Set a password, add email and password login if you signed up through Google or Microsoft SSO
Change your password, update your password at any time if you use email login
📅 When to Use It
Your Profile is most useful when you want to add or update your profile picture after joining the team, correct your name if it was entered incorrectly during setup, set a password so you can log in without relying on Google or Microsoft SSO, update your phone number, or quickly check which email address your account uses.
📝 Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Access Your Profile
Click Settings in the left sidebar
Click Profile in the Settings sidebar
Settings opens as a pop-up window titled with your workspace name. The Profile section shows two parts: Manage Profile and Password & Security.
2. Update Your Profile Picture
Click Upload Photo to open a file selector
Choose an image from your device and confirm
Click Save Changes in the bottom right to apply
To remove your current photo: click Remove next to your current picture, then click Save Changes to confirm.
Note: Use a square image at least 256×256px, PNG or JPG. Your profile picture appears next to your name in tasks, messages, daily logs, and other areas where team activity is visible.
3. Update Your Name or Phone Number
Click into the First Name, Last Name, or Phone Number field
For Phone Number, use the country selector to choose the correct dial code for your number
Make your changes
Click Save Changes in the bottom right
Note: First Name is required. Your name appears on all documents, logs, and activity records across the platform, so keep it accurate. The country code you select is used wherever your phone number appears elsewhere in Structur.
4. Set or Change Your Password
If you signed up with Google or Microsoft SSO:
Your Password & Security section shows: "You're signed in with SSO. Set a password to also enable email login."
Click Set Password
Follow the prompts to create a password
Click Save Changes
Once set, you can log in with either your SSO provider or your email and password.
If you use email and password login:
Click into the password fields in the Password & Security section
Enter your current password and your new password
Click Save Changes
Note: Setting a password does not remove your SSO login. You can continue using Google or Microsoft to sign in alongside email login.
⭐ Best Practices
Use a clear, recognizable profile photo, a headshot helps teammates identify you quickly in tasks and messages, especially on larger teams.
Keep your name accurate, your name appears on daily logs, RFIs, submittals, and other documents that clients and subs may see.
Set a backup password if you use SSO, if you ever lose access to your Google or Microsoft account, email login gives you a way back in.
Check your email address before contacting support, your account email is tied to your login and all notifications. Knowing it saves time if you ever need help.
Do not share your login, every team member should have their own account. Shared credentials break the activity trail across your projects.
❓ Common Questions
Q: Can I change my email address from the Profile page?
A: No. Your email address is set at account creation and is displayed on your Profile page for reference only. It cannot be edited from here. If you need to update your account email, contact Structur support at [email protected].
Q: What does the "Verified" badge next to my email mean?
A: It confirms your email address has been verified. This happens automatically the first time you log in, there's nothing you need to do.
Q: Can I change my role from my Profile page?
A: No. Your role is managed by your Owner or Company Admin in Settings > Users. You can see your current role displayed as a badge on your Profile page, but it is not editable from here.
Q: I signed up with Google SSO. Do I need to set a password?
A: Not unless you want to. Setting a password is optional and gives you a second way to log in. If you are comfortable always signing in with Google, you do not need to change anything.
Q: What happens if I click Remove on my profile picture?
A: Your profile picture is removed and replaced with a default avatar using your initials. This takes effect after you click Save Changes.
Q: Can other users see my phone number?
A: Your phone number is stored on your account but is not publicly displayed to other team members inside Structur. It is for your own record only.
Q: Does clicking Cancel undo all my changes?
A: Yes. Clicking Cancel discards any unsaved changes to both the Manage Profile and Password & Security sections and returns to your previous settings.
Q: What is the difference between my Profile and the Company settings?
A: Your Profile covers your personal account details, name, photo, phone, and password. Company settings cover organization-wide information like your company name, logo, default markup percentages, and billing. Changes to your Profile affect only your account. Changes to Company settings affect your whole organization.
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
❌ Don't | ✅ Do |
Look for your role or permissions in Profile | Go to Settings > Users, your Owner or Company Admin manages roles there |
Expect to change your email address from Profile | Contact support at [email protected] if you need to update your account email |
Forget to click Save Changes after uploading a photo | Always click Save Changes to confirm any updates before leaving the page |
Share your login with a teammate | Make sure every team member has their own Structur account |
Assume removing SSO login also removes your password | SSO and email login are independent, removing one does not affect the other |
