📋 Overview
Your Company Settings control the foundational details that appear on every client-facing document Structur produces. Your company name, location, and logo show up automatically on every proposal and invoice you send. Your default overhead and profit percentages apply to every new estimate, budget, and proposal you build. Getting these right once means every document that goes out to a client looks professional and consistent without any extra work on your end.
Company Settings also give you control over a handful of workspace-wide defaults that affect how Structur behaves across your entire organization: your currency, unit of measurement, and timezone; whether you collect tax; whether your ACH payment details appear on invoices; and whether you can see and restore deleted items. All of these are configured in one place.
This is one of the first places to visit when setting up your account, and one of the easiest to overlook once you're up and running. A few minutes here saves time and prevents inconsistencies across every project that follows.
🔍 Understanding Company Settings

Upload your company logo, have it appear automatically on proposals, invoices, and other documents your clients see
Configure workspace-wide defaults, set your currency, unit of measurement, and timezone
Control account-wide toggles, configure default behaviors for overhead and profit, tax collection, ACH payment info, and deleted item recovery
Transfer account ownership, hand off ownership of the Structur account to another user when needed
📅 When to Use It
Company Settings is most valuable when you need to:
Set up your account before sending your first proposal to a client
Update your company name, address, or logo after a rebrand
Add or update your contractor license number and expiration date
Set your workspace's currency, unit of measurement, and timezone
Enable or disable tax collection across your invoices, proposals, and change orders
Turn on Restore Mode temporarily to recover a deleted project or document
Set default overhead and profit percentages so every new estimate, budget, and proposal starts with the right numbers
Transfer ownership of the account to another team member
📝 Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open Company Settings
Click Settings in the left sidebar
Click Company in the Settings sidebar
Settings opens as a pop-up window titled with your workspace name. The Company section is organized into three parts: Company Profile, Configuration, and Transfer Ownership.
2. Complete Your Company Profile
The Company Profile card holds the identifying information shown on documents, proposals, and to your clients.
Click Upload Logo to add your company logo, or Remove to clear the current one
Enter your Name (required), your business name as it should appear on all client-facing documents
Enter your Location, your physical address, which appears on proposals and invoices
Enter your Contractor License #, your license number, if applicable to your trade and state
Enter your License Expiration, the expiration date for your contractor license
Enter your Website, your company URL, displayed on proposals and invoices
Click Save Changes in the bottom right when done
Note: Your company name and location appear on every proposal and invoice you send. Make sure they match exactly how you want your business presented to clients. Keep your Contractor License # and License Expiration current, especially if your business displays licensing information to clients.
3. Upload Your Company Logo
Click Upload Logo in the Company Profile card
Select your logo file from your computer
Click Save Changes
To replace an existing logo, click Remove first, then upload the new file.
Note: Use a square image at least 256×256px. SVG or PNG is preferred. Your logo appears automatically on proposals, invoices, and other client-facing documents.
4. Set Your Workspace Configuration
The Configuration card holds workspace-wide defaults for currency, taxes, payments, and document behavior.
Select your Currency (required) from the dropdown, this applies across your entire workspace
Select your Unit of Measurement (required), choose US Standard or Meters
Select your Timezone (required), all dates and times across Structur display in this timezone
Click Save Changes when done
5. Configure Your Account Toggles
Four toggles in the Configuration card control workspace-wide default behaviors. Review each and set it to match how your business operates.
Enable default Overhead and Profit, when on, enter your Overhead and Profit percentages directly below the toggle. These pre-fill automatically on new estimates, budgets, proposals, and change orders. You can still override these on any specific document when needed.
Enable Tax Collection, when on, sales tax applies on invoices, proposals, and change orders. Turn this on if you are required to collect sales tax.
Send ACH info with the invoice, when on, your routing and account number are included automatically on outgoing invoice PDFs. Turn this on if you accept ACH payments and want to make it easy for clients to pay by bank transfer.
Enable Restore Mode, when on, any projects or documents you've deleted become visible throughout the app with a strikethrough, and a Restore button appears next to each one. Deleted items remain recoverable for 60 days before they're permanently removed.
Important: Turn Restore Mode on only when you need to recover a deleted item. Turn it off again as soon as you're done. Leaving it on clutters your views with deleted records that should stay hidden during normal use.
Click Save Changes after adjusting any toggles.
6. Transfer Account Ownership
The Transfer Ownership card lets you hand over ownership of the workspace to another team member.
Click the Select the new owner dropdown and choose the user you want to transfer ownership to
Review the warning: transferring gives up your ownership of the workspace, your role becomes Company Admin, and the new owner gains full billing and member-management rights
Check the box confirming: "I understand that I will lose ownership and become Company Admin."
Click Transfer Ownership
Important: This action cannot be undone without the new owner transferring ownership back to you. Once you transfer, your role becomes Company Admin and you lose account ownership. Only use this when you intentionally want to hand off ownership.
⭐ Best Practices
Complete every field in your company profile, even fields that feel optional, like your website, appear on client-facing documents and add credibility.
Upload a professional logo before sending any proposals, a missing logo on a proposal signals to clients that the account is not fully set up.
Keep your Contractor License # and License Expiration current, especially if your trade or state requires it to be shown on client-facing documents.
Enable default Overhead and Profit before building your first estimate, setting these once means you never have to enter them manually on individual estimates, budgets, proposals, or change orders.
Use Restore Mode only when you need it, turn it on to recover a deleted item and turn it off again immediately so deleted records don't clutter your views. Remember deleted items are only recoverable for 60 days.
Keep your company name and location current, if your business address changes, update it here so all new proposals and invoices reflect the correct information.
Set your currency, unit of measurement, and timezone at setup, these apply workspace-wide and changing them later can affect how existing documents display.
❓ Common Questions
Q: Where do I find Company Settings?
A: Click Settings in the left sidebar, then click Company in the Settings sidebar.
Q: What does Enable Restore Mode do?
A: When turned on, any projects or documents you've deleted become visible throughout the app with a strikethrough, and a Restore button appears next to each one so you can recover it. Deleted items remain recoverable for 60 days before they're permanently removed. Turn Restore Mode off again once you're done so your views stay clean.
Q: Will changing my default overhead and profit percentages affect existing estimates?
A: No. Changes to default overhead and profit only apply to new estimates, budgets, proposals, and change orders created after the change. Existing documents are not affected.
Q: Can I change my company settings after the account is set up?
A: Yes. All settings can be updated at any time. Changes to your company profile apply to new documents going forward and do not affect existing estimates, proposals, or invoices that have already been created.
Q: What happens when I transfer ownership?
A: The selected user becomes the new account owner and gains full billing and member-management rights. Your role becomes Company Admin. This cannot be undone without the new owner transferring ownership back to you.
Q: Should I enable tax collection?
A: Only if you are required to collect sales tax on your work. Tax requirements vary by state, trade, and contract type. Check with your accountant if you're unsure.
Q: What file format works best for the company logo?
A: A square image at least 256×256px. SVG or PNG is preferred.
Q: Do I need to fill in the Contractor License # and License Expiration fields?
A: Only if applicable to your trade and state. These fields are optional, but keeping them current is a good practice if your business needs to display licensing information on client-facing documents.
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
❌ Don't | ✅ Do |
Leave your company name or location blank | Complete all profile fields before sending your first proposal, they appear on every client-facing document |
Send proposals without uploading a logo | Upload a professional logo before your first client sees anything from Structur |
Leave Restore Mode on after recovering a deleted item | Turn Restore Mode off immediately after restoring what you need so deleted records don't clutter your views |
Assume deleted items are recoverable indefinitely | Recover what you need within 60 days, after that, deleted items are permanently removed |
Enable default Overhead and Profit after building estimates | Set your default percentages before your first estimate so every document starts with the right numbers |
Transfer ownership without fully understanding the consequences | Read the confirmation carefully, transferring ownership changes your role to Company Admin and cannot be undone without the new owner's action |
Assume profile changes update existing documents | Company profile changes apply to new documents only, existing proposals and invoices are not affected |
Let your Contractor License expire without updating it | Review your License Expiration date periodically if your business displays licensing info to clients |
