Community

Covers browsing posts by category, creating posts with rich text and attachments, liking, commenting, and adding custom categories.

Written by Support

šŸ“‹ Overview

Community is Structur's built-in space for connecting with other general contractors and construction professionals who use the platform. It is where you can ask questions, share ideas, request features, read Structur updates, and have conversations with peers who understand the same challenges you face every day on the job.

Every Structur user has access to Community from the left sidebar. Posts are organized into categories so you can quickly find conversations that are relevant to your work -- whether that is estimating, project management, marketing, or general business topics. The Structur team also uses Community to share product updates and announcements directly with users.

Community is more than a support channel. It is a place to exchange knowledge with other contractors, surface ideas for how Structur can improve, and stay informed about what is coming to the platform. The more your team participates, the more valuable it becomes for everyone.

šŸ” Understanding Community

⚔ What It Does

Community allows you and your team to:

  • Browse posts by category -- filter the feed to see only the topics relevant to you using the left panel category list

  • Create posts -- share questions, ideas, tips, or feedback with the full Structur user community

  • Write rich posts -- use the full rich text editor to format your post with headings, lists, images, links, code blocks, and more

  • Attach files -- upload supporting documents or images alongside your post

  • Like and comment -- engage with other users' posts to show support or add to the conversation

  • Add custom categories -- create your own category if none of the existing ones fit your topic

  • Stay updated -- read Structur Updates posts from the Structur team about new features and announcements

šŸ“… When to Use It

Community is most valuable when you want to:

  • Ask a question that other experienced Structur users might be able to answer

  • Share a tip or workflow that has worked well for your company

  • Submit a feature idea and see if other users agree it would be valuable

  • Read about new features and updates from the Structur team

  • Connect with other contractors in the Structur network

šŸ“ Step-by-Step Instructions

⭐ Best Practices

  • Use specific, descriptive post titles -- a title like "How do you handle allowance reconciliation at project close?" gets more responses than "Question about allowances."

  • Choose the right category -- putting your post in the right category helps the right people find it and respond faster.

  • Use the rich text editor for longer posts -- headings and bullet points make detailed posts easier to read and get better engagement.

  • Check if a post already exists before creating a new one -- use the search bar to see if someone has already asked your question. You might find an answer immediately.

  • Like posts you find useful -- likes help surface the most valuable content for everyone in the community and show appreciation to the person who posted.

  • Follow Structur Updates for product news -- the Structur team posts new feature announcements and updates in the Structur Updates category. Check it regularly to stay current.
